Kashmir University VC makes surprise visit to check status of classwork
On Monday morning, Vice-Chancellor of the Kashmir University, Prof Nilofer Khan, made an unannounced visit to a few teaching departments on the main campus to check the status of classwork. The surprise visit was conducted to ensure that the academic calendar is being followed in letter and spirit, and to maintain the quality of education being provided to the students.

Inspection of Departments of Management Studies and Commerce
Prof Nilofer Khan was accompanied by the Dean of Academic Affairs, Prof F A Masoodi, during the visit. The Vice-Chancellor inspected the conduct of classes at the Department of Management Studies (DMS) and the Department of Commerce to ensure that the faculty and students are complying with the academic calendar.

Interaction with MBA and IMBA students
During the visit, Prof Nilofer Khan interacted with the students at the MBA and IMBA blocks to inquire about the time-tables and status of completion of the syllabus. The Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of following the academic calendar and completing the syllabus on time to ensure timely award of degrees to the students pursuing PG or research programmes in the University.

Directions to follow academic calendar
Prof Nilofer Khan reiterated her directions on following the already-notified academic calendar in letter and spirit. She stated that any laxity in the conduct of classes as per the notified time-tables will be unacceptable. The Vice-Chancellor urged the students to focus on their studies and research dedicatedly in the larger interest of safeguarding their future academic prospects.
The surprise visit by the Vice-Chancellor to check the status of classwork at the Kashmir University is a positive step towards ensuring the quality of education being provided to the students. It also sends a message to the faculty and students that the University is serious about maintaining academic standards and following the academic calendar.
