Pakistan’s Official Announcement on Moon Sighting for Ramadan 2023

According to recent reports, the Ruw’at e Hilal committee in Pakistan has declared that the crescent moon indicating the start of Ramadan 2023 was not sighted anywhere in the country. As a result, it is expected that the first day of Ramadan 2023 will be on March 24, 2023.

Moon Sighting

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is considered one of the most important months for Muslims. During this month, Muslims around the world observe a month-long period of fasting, increased devotion to worship, and spiritual reflection.

Muslims who observe Ramadan abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs from dawn until dusk. Fasting during this month is seen as an act of worship and a way to develop self-discipline and empathy towards those who are less fortunate. In addition to fasting, Muslims also engage in increased acts of worship such as prayer, reading the Quran, and giving charity to the poor and needy.

The start date of Ramadan 2023 may vary depending on the sighting of the moon in different countries and regions. However, based on the declaration of the Ruw’at e Hilal committee in Pakistan, it is expected that the first day of Ramadan 2023 will be on March 24, 2023. Muslims around the world will begin their month-long journey of fasting, worship, and spiritual reflection on this day.
